As a relatively new resident of Barry’s Bay, Sheilagh Dunn brings a diverse work background including experience at all three levels of government, private sector consulting on economic development and business start-ups, and most recently, a 20+ year career with Queen’s University where she held increasingly responsible positions in business development, government relations and stakeholder management, and Board-management relations. Throughout her career, Sheilagh honed her skills in strategic planning, community engagement, risk assessment and mitigation, strategic communications, and project management.
Sheilagh’s other volunteer commitments include having served as External Governor on the Board of Governors for Algonquin College and Director and Committee Chair for the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation; Sheilagh is currently a Director of StationKeepers Madawaska Valley. She has a particular interest in the recruitment and retention of healthcare workers and professionals to rural and remote areas, and local and regional economic development.
Sheilagh has an Honours B.A. from Queen’s University, and Master of Education from the University of Toronto.
