At this time of year, we typically observe a decrease in the number of respiratory infections, hospitalizations due to COVID-19, influenza and RSV, institutional outbreaks, and wastewater signals; thus, St. Francis Memorial Hospital has begun relaxing masking measures.
Effective April 22nd, the following changes have come into effect:
For patients, masks should be donned:
• in ambulatory care, for symptomatic patients based on results of active or passive FRI screening.
• in inpatient areas, as needed based on individual patient precautions.
Visitors will be required to mask in the same circumstances as staff, except for work self-isolation, and are encouraged to mask in other areas if desired.
For situations where masking is not required, it will be optional. Masks and Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer will remain accessible for staff at point-of-care and for patients/visitors at all Hospital entrances.
