All exams are performed by our highly qualified Medical Radiation Technologists and Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department accepts requisitions from authorized care providers (Physician/NP)
Each requisition must be complete with:
Incomplete requisitions cannot be accepted and will need to be reviewed by the ordering provider prior to booking of examination.

*Please send all requisitions to the imaging department prior to patients presenting for their examination- this will ensure timely booking of examinations. Once received all requisitions are triaged and protocoled as needed- The booking department will reach out to the patient directly to book appointments.

Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1600 hours X-ray technologist onsite
24 hour EMERGENCY On-Call - based on direction of the ER Physician
When you arrive, please report to the Hospital Registration/Information Office in the SFMH Main lobby
Be prepared to present your Health Card.
Wear clothing that is easy to remove. Do not wear jewelry. Please leave any personal belongings or valuable at home.

Please note that a "No Show Fee" of $45 will be charged to you if the hospital is not notified in advance.
St. Francis Memorial Hospital utilizes a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with the provincial Data Image Repository (OCINet). This increases the efficiency of the Diagnostic Imaging department, as radiologists can access images at any time, resulting in better patient care.
Your personal health information will be disclosed only to care providers involved in your personal care unless you have expressly withheld or withdrawn your consent. Examples of care providers may include your attending doctors, nurses, family doctor or specialist.
A new initiative aimed at providing seamless patient-centered care began at St Francis Memorial Hospital on May 13, 2024. Patients have an additional option for obtaining their images and reports after their Diagnostic procedure has been completed. Rather than requesting a CD copy and returning at a later date to retrieve it, patients can now access their images online via Pocket Health. Patients can ensure their images are getting to any physician, anywhere, by easily sharing a URL link via email or fax, or they can upload their images to a USB or CD and bring them to their appointment.
